What is built in
For packing: a separate shoe pocket at the bottom, a lined wet pocket.
On the move: a zipped pocket against your back, a USB port for your own power bank, zips that expand the bag.
Care
Wipe the fabric with a damp cloth and a little mild soap and let the bag dry open, away from direct heat. Empty the shoe and wet pockets after each trip so they can air out.

Forty-five liters is the most room we put in one backpack, and it still measures within the 22 x 14 x 9 inch carry-on size most US airlines print: 18.5 x 12.6 x 8.7 inches empty. Zips let it expand when you need the extra room on the way home.
The layout matches the smaller sizes: a shoe pocket at the bottom, a wet pocket, a zipped pocket against your back and a USB port for your own power bank. Leave the expansion closed on the way to the airport if you want to stay inside the carry-on numbers.
